Waterfowl season is approaching quicker than we think. If you are looking for the best time of year to come up to target either ducks, Canada geese, or Sandhill cranes, Thanksgiving break is PERFECT! The kiddos will be out of school, and the birds will not have been hunted much at all.
The geese will typically be close to town, and the hunt will be phenomenal. Hunts around this time of year are very fast paced and can be done in no time at all! We recommend bringing a large group, or let us mix groups together for a larger limit. It is not uncommon at all to kill 40 Canada geese in less than 30 minutes.
Along with the geese this time of year, the Sandhill crane hunts are like no other. In a league of their own, these prehistoric looking birds with a wingspan of 6 feet offer an enjoyable hunt. (Not to mention they are delicious!) It is very common for us to limit on geese one day and crane the next.
Note that for this time of year, to get the best experience the Texas panhandle has to offer a two day hunt is recommended. Geese the first day with action like no other, followed by the next morning with a relaxing unique thrill of shooting cranes. Give us a call and let’s get your outdoor adventure started!
